17/8/16. Circular walk form Ardington towards the Ridgeway.
This was a delightful short easy walk for a summer day. A surprisingly large August walking group was not troubled by too much traffic as we enjoyed tramping along the shady lanes around Ardington.
The footpaths were good and edged with summer wild flowers. There were delightful views over the countryside. We made a brief visit to the ancient West Hendred church that is situated next to the Ardington brook.
The walk started and finished at the attractive and welcoming Boars Head Pub where most of the group enjoyed a leisurely lunch.
