27 members, friends and partners set off in a coach from the village to Kew Gardens, for what has become our annual summer outing. We had in a guided tour of the amazing, recently renovated Temperate House and the gardens around it, and enjoyed other lovely attractions – the Treetop Walkway , the newly opened Great Pagoda, the Hive sculpture, the steamy Palm House, the art of Marianne North, the Rose Garden, the great Broad Walk borders – looking wonderful with their summer flowers – and some fabulous specimen trees. There was not enough time to take everything in, so many of us felt we will return for a second visit I’m sure. A very enjoyable day. Thank you to Gill Dexter for her work in organising it.
