Lovely evening on Wednesday 5th January at the Cartshed cafe in Preston Crowmarsh for a good cause – Marie Curie. WI members provided some advice and help to young mums to recycle and revive their wardrobes and also had an opportunity to look at vintage and pre-loved garments. The food was also delicious.
On 28th November, three members (Annette, Helena and Janis) and a non-member visited Waddesden’s Christmas lights and market. The Manor was beautifully decorated, each room being themed with a different Christmas song, carol or storiy. We managed to tick off some Christmas presents from our gift lists as there were some very attractive stalls in the market and also a good range of Rothschild wines in the gift shop.
Showcasing our WI at the ‘Get involved in Village Event’ on 12 October in the Village Hall, the Brightwell cum Sotwell WI was one of 30 organisations presenting information on their organisation to possible new members. The eye-catching table aimed to represent what we do and our board at back gave more details of our campaigns and groups. It attracted interest including several new potential members
Three members visited Hidcote gardens last Thursday 4 th July. It was a beautiful day with lots of sunshine but not too hot.
The gardens were crammed with colour, not least with these incredible delphiniums, and the whole place looked amazing. All in all a most enjoyable day!
